Diamonds in the Pork: 4 Memphis Barbeque Spots You Need To Try

Instead of trying to convince you which barbeque restaurant is the best  (we’re smarter than to attempt that futile mission), I’ve gone on a  quest to find the best lesser-known (or at least, less celebrated)  Memphis BBQ. At each restaurant, my friends and I tried nearly Every. Single. Meat. Menu. Item.

Best Bets: Brisket

 I watched David Scott Walker prepare a brisket at the recent Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest. I wasn’t able to return 13 hours  later to taste the finished product, but Walker told me the preparation  and the cooking process was about the same as the way it’s done at his  restaurant, Stanley Bar B Que in Overton Square.

Schweinehaus to Become Stanley Bar-B-Que

 With tax season is over, Andy Walker tells us, they've begun the process  with liquor licenses, permits etc., with the government to officially  change the name of Schweinehaus to Stanley Bar-B-Que.
